Michael Goldman

Michael L. Goldman is a founding member of the firm and serves as the managing principal. Michael also serves as Chairman of the Business/Corporate Department and the Commercial Real Estate Department.

Attorney Goldman's diverse experience, as legal counsel for lending institutions, developers and small business owners, together with his prior personal business experience as president and chief operating officer of Connecticut's largest privately-owned second mortgage lender and background as an accounting lecturer at The Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania, gives him a unique perspective on assisting business owners in their formation, contract negotiation, business planning and transactions.

Mr. Goldman is an officer and director of and General Counsel to The First Connecticut Capital Corporation, a publicly traded lending corporation.

Michael's primary representation includes:

Forming entities (corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships) to minimize clients' personal liability and maximize business efficiency.
Assisting business owners in contract negotiation and dispute resolution.
Closing real estate and business purchases, sales, leases and financing.
Representing Developers and neighbors before local planning and zoning, wetlands, ZBA and other land use commissions.

Attorney Goldman was graduated from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Economics magna cum laude, and he was graduated from University of Pennsylvania Law School cum laude, having achieved Order of the Coif (top 10% in academic standing).

Married to Ellen Winchell Goldman and father of three children, Michael volunteers his time as Class Agent for The University of Pennsylvania Law School Class of 1986 and as President of Congregation Rodeph Sholom.
